MacParty Part One

     As day broke, MacGyver sat on his second floor balcony, watching the Friday morning commute.  He had no plans for the day or for the weekend.  One of the many perks of his job was getting what he wanted when he wanted, and right now, he wanted to sit back and relax for the weekend.  
     MacGyver grabbed his mug of green tea sweetened with honey and found it to be empty.  He got up and went to the kitchen to make another cup of organic green tea.  While the water was heating, he heard a knock at the door.  Mac checked his appearance in the mirror before opening the door to an attractive blonde girl of twenty.  
     “Why, hello,” he said.  
     “Oh,” she said disappointedly. “Hi, I thought this was my friend’s apartment.”
     “Is your friend, by any chance, named Tiffany?”
     “Yeah!  Do you know her?”
     “Uh, yeah, I uh, know her pretty well.  We’ve had dinner together a few times, ‘cause our take-out always gets mixed up and Tiff always invites me in when I bring her her salad and Diet Coke.”
     “Yep, that sounds like her.  I came over here to invite her to a big party at my Sorority tonight at nine.”
     “Where’s your Sorority House?”
     “It’s Delta Gamma Gamma.  It’s so fun!  We have parties all the time, I love it.”
     “At the local college?”
     “We have the parties at the dorms, since our House is real close to the woods, and not really near any other dorms, no one minds the noise.”
     “I meant do you go to Smithers University?”
     “Oh, yeah I do.  Tiff used to go there, but she was in my older sister’s class and they graduated last year.”
     “Uh, yeah, so is the party invitation-only or what?”
     “No invitation necessary.  Umm, it is gonna be pretty much girls...” MacGyver straightened his back and tilted his head up.  “...but I think one or two of the girls mighta invited a guy.”
     “Interesting.”
     “So, what apartment is Tiff in?” she inquired.
     “Next one down,” he said, pointing down the hall.  
     “Thank you,” she said, smiling while saying the words.
     Mac watched her saunter down the hall for a moment before remembering he left the water boiling on the stove.  MacGyver loved his job and all the perks it allowed him.  Like going to college parties at nine o’clock and staying until day breaks again.
